Jerusalem, 20 May, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office stated that Israel has agreed to the American proposal for the return of the Israelis still held hostage by terrorists in Gaza, which is based on the Witkoff framework.
This framework calls for a renewed ceasefire in Gaza as part of the deal to release the hostages.
This proposal was recently conveyed to Hamas via the mediators; however, the terrorist organization continues to refuse to accept it.
After approximately one week after what was described as “intensive contacts” in Doha, Qatar, the senior members of Israel’s negotiating team will return to Israel for consultations.
However, the working echelon will – at present – remain in Doha.
