Jerusalem, 30 June, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The IDF (Israel Defense Forces) revealed that yesterday (Monday), together with the Shin Bet (Israel’s anti-terror General Security Service), it attacked and eliminated Mahmoud Fathi Abdelhai Abu Fakhr, commander of the Hamas Rafah Brigade’s “Yabna” Battalion.
Abu Fakhr acted recently to recruit new terrorists to the battalion, led their training, and attempted to rehabilitate the battalion’s capabilities, with the aim of harming IDF forces.
He was a veteran commander in Hamas and one of the senior figures in the military wing’s supply department. For approximately 20 years, he was a central figure in the terror organization’s smuggling apparatus, said the IDF.
As part of his roles, Abu Fakhr managed and directed the smuggling of weapons into the Gaza Strip, and led the supply of many means required for Hamas’ continued terrorist activity.
