Jerusalem, 30 June, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The Israel Police and the Shin Bet (Israel’s anti-terror General Security Service) completed their investigation of a 20-year-old American citizen who was arrested on June 9 on suspicion of maintaining contact with a foreign agent and harming state security, and said they determined that he in fact was in contact with operatives on behalf of Iranian intelligence elements.
As part of this, alleged the police, the suspect performed various tasks that included documenting and photographing sensitive sites and, in exchange, received monetary payment of tens to hundreds of dollars per task.
A prosecutor’s statement regarding the intention to file an indictment against him in the coming days was submitted to the court today, along with a request for his detention until the conclusion of legal proceedings.
